Christie Virginia Searight Williams

Christie Virginia Searight Williams went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the age of 92. Virginia was dearly loved by family and friends and those who cared for her near the end of her life. She enjoyed working as business manager at the UT Texas Union from l960 to 1969 where she made many life long friends. Her passion was traveling the world and she was fortunate to visit many countries during her lifetime. Virginia was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Austin. She was an active member of Chapter AZ, P.E.O, Military Wives Club, D.A.R., Assistance League, Austin Women's Club, and the Exchange Club for many years. She was preceded in death by first husband Gilbert A Searight and later Col. U.P. Williams. She leaves behind her son, Laten Searight and wife Gaye, daughter Sally Logsdon and husband John, step daughter Jeann Schmidt and husband Olaf , grandchildren, Trey Logsdon and wife Heather, Jimmy Logsdon, Julie Logsdon Collier and husband Cliff, Christine Schmidt Holtz and husband John , Lance Schmidt and wife Laura and 7 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff at Westminster Manor Health Care and HealthCare Odyssey for their tender and loving care of our mother. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 4th at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 8001 Mesa Drive, and Austin TX 78731, phone number 345-8866.
