Christina “Tina” Grandinetti Wawack, age 59, passed away December 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer (AML Leukemia). Born on September 27, 1966, in Austin, Texas, Tina was a proud fourth-generation Austinite with deep family roots in the community.
Christina graduated from Westlake High School (1984), attended The University of Texas-San Antonio, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (1989). Her nursing career began in Austin and continued in New York City where she developed lifelong friendships and built the foundation of her work devoted to caring for others.
In 2002, Christina married Steven Wawack and moved to Paris to begin their life together. She embraced the Parisian lifestyle, learned French, formed cherished friendships, and taught at the École Gerson (Catholic School), where she made a lasting impact on students and colleagues. In 2004, she welcomed her beloved son, Benjamin Frank.
Christina divided her time between Paris and a home in Round Rock. In Texas, she continued her passion for teaching, most recently at McNeil High School in Round Rock (2021-present), where she taught Health Science.
Christina was a generous, loving, fun, gifted, and deeply nurturing woman. Tina’s compassion ran deep, and she had a remarkable way of making others feel cared for, supported, and understood. Her beautiful laughter—bright, joyful, and unforgettable—touched all who were blessed to encounter her. Her legacy lives on in the many hearts she shaped through kindness, strength, and love.
Christina is survived by her husband, Steven Wawack and their son Benjamin. Her parents, Nicholas and Janet Grandinetti; sister, Michelle Stinson (husband Charles), brother, Chris Grandinetti (wife Annemarie) and Robin Smith-Wawack (sister-in-law) and beloved nephews, Jason and Justin.
Rest in Peace our beloved Christina.
