Christopher Mayo Pruitt, Lance Corporal, U. S. Marine Corps, died unexpectedly December 6, 2003 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born June 5, 1983 in Poway California. At the time of his death he was serving with the U. S. Marine Corps Security Force Company Kings Bay at the U. S. Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia. An Eagle Scout whose Eagle Court of Honor was held aboard the U. S. Coast Guard Barque Eagle, Christopher is survived by his younger brother Alexander Cage Pruitt, age 9; his mother Carolyn Mayo Pruitt and his father Jack David Pruitt of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Other survivors include: maternal grandparents Nita Louise Kellam Mayo and J. B. Jack Mayo of Austin Texas, an uncle John Kellam Mayo of Austin, aunts Kathleen Mayo of Austin, Sara Mayo of Denton, great aunt Carolyn Curtis of Austin, and cousins Mike Curtis and Kimberley Curtis Ezell of Austin. Lance Corporal Pruitt was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents Jesse Cage JC Kellam and Louise Murphey Kellam of Austin.
