
CLARENCE H. VILCOQ Clarence H. Vilcoq of Austin, Texas died on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at the age of 87. He was born November 7, 1916 in San Antonio, Texas to Maurice and Mary Louise Dieckow Vilcoq. He had one brother Paul M. Vilcoq. Both his parents and brother predeceased him. He married Rosella Weiskittel of Cincinnati, Ohio on November 11, 1944. After serving in the Army during World War II, Clarence and Rosella returned to San Antonio where Clarence resumed his job with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Their two daughters, Nannette and Michelle were born in San Antonio. While living in San Antonio, the family was active in St. Johns Lutheran Church where Clarence was baptized in 1917 & confirmed in 1930. In 1953 SWBT transferred Clarence to Austin where he continued to work as an engineer until his retirement in 1981. The family joined St. Martins Lutheran Church where Clarence and Rosella remained very active. In September of 2002, Clarence began living at Gracy Woods II due to the progression of Alzheimers. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Gracy Woods II for their loving care of Mr. Clarence. God shared this wonderful man with his earthly family and friends for 87 years. He was very dedicated to both of them. He taught everyone by his kind and gentle example. Clarence is survived by his very loving family; wife, Rosella Vilcoq of Austin; daughters & son-in-Laws, Nannette and Frank Dillard of Houston, Texas and Michelle and Bill Zapalac of Austin, Texas; His grandchildren who call him Pa, Will and Stacey Zapalac of Houston, Texas, Shad and Angela Zapalac of Austin, Texas, Jason Dillard of Austin, Texas, Amanda and Robert Drackett of Austin, Texas and Brandon Dillard of Austin, Texas; great grandchildren, Taite, Hattie and Kennedy Zapalac of Houston, Texas and Joel and Kaden Zapalac of Austin, Texas; nephew, Paul M. Vilcoq, Jr. of Acworth, Georgia; and other family members who knew him as TEX and shared many happy times with him. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, the 17th of April, 2004, 10 a.m. at St. Martins Lutheran Church; 606 West 15th, Austin, Texas 78701 with Pastor Sam Zumwalt and Pastor June Wilkins presiding.
