Claudette is survived by her sons, Troy C. Walters, of Bastrop, TX, and Lynn “Hoss” Walters, of Leander, TX. Three grandchildren, Keely Ashlynn Walters, Stone Jaxson Walters and Jaxey Raelynn Walters, all of Leander, TX. Two sisters, Margaret Anita Glasgow, of Bradenton, FL, and Edith Ann Woods, of Richmond, TX. In addition, “Aunt Claudette”, as she was known to most of the family, is survived by several nieces, nephews, and family members, as well as a community of people and friends she adopted and loved as family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Quitman L. Walters, affectionately known as “Tiny”. Her parents, Elmer Claude and Alta Mae Wood. Four brothers, Charles “Buster” Bentley, Billie Murray York, Sherman Floyd “Bickie” York and Norman Neil York. Two sisters, Lucille York Rash and Rita Joyce Holloman, and her beloved Aunt, Dorothy Bruce.
Claudette loved to garden, take road trips, and laugh and talk. She always gave freely and never expected anything in return. Strangers were just friends who she never met. Her door was always open, and her heart was always loving. She loved the Lord with all her heart and her faith was unshakeable. She will be missed terribly, but we celebrate her life and give thanks to the Almighty for the honor of just knowing her.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
