Corinne Couch "Cody" Morris was born October 15, 1930 in Dallas, Texas. She passed away May 18, 2008 at St. David's in South Austin. Cody was widowed by Jack Morris in August 2003. In 1957, Jack wooed and wed Cody who was widowed by David G. "Skippy" Browning, the 1952 Olympic Diving Champion and close friend and teammate of Jack. In March of 1959, Jack and Cody bought a "fixer upper" on Lake Austin and spent the next forty years doing just that. They enjoyed swimming, water skiing, wake surfing and a panoramic view of the south end of the lake along with their 3 beloved children. In 1971 Cody began work at Crenshaw Athletic Club at the "request" of good friend, Bill Crenshaw -- anyone who knew Bill will tell you a request was more of a command. Cody continued as General Manager until her retirement in 1993. Over her 22 years at Crenshaws, she touched many lives of children and parents in Austin. Cody is survived by their three children, Matt, Leslie and Glenn; in addition to Matt's wife, Monica and two grandsons Trevor and Jack. Graveside services will be held at Austin Memorial Park on Wednesday May 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Cody's life following services at the family home. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the charity of your choice.
