Cornealious Swist, 84, passed January 26, 2024 in Austin, Texas. He was born on October 14, 1939 in Caldwell County, Texas, to his late parents John and Bertha Swist. He began a career in truck driving for several years. After retiring from that he moved into the field of being an auto mechanic, which he continued to do until retiring again in 2015. He was a true Texan, who loved football (Dallas Cowboys and The Texas Longhorns) and BBQ'N. Scratching off lottery tickets (Break the Bank) was his favorite pastime, along with watching old westerns, and cooking breakfast for his loved ones.
In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his siblings; John, Clarence, Roges Swist and Sallie Harper, and his eldest daughter Verlisa Swist.
Cornealious is survived by his children: Curtis Taylor, Audrie Jennings, Patricia and Craig Gordon, Christopher Dantzler, Donovin Byrd, Whitney Swist, Nia and Hershari Boxton; sister, Effie Hadnot; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m-2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024 with the Celebration of Life beginning at 2 p.m. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas.
