Daniel Tim Hammond

Daniel “Danny” Tim Hammond, age 33, of San Marcos, Texas, passed away on January 23, 2025, after a brief but brave battle with cancer. Danny was born May 24, 1991, in Houston, Texas, to loving parents Tim Fredricks Hammond and Susan Nisula Hammond. He is a 2009 graduate of Westwood High School in Austin and a proud 2014 graduate of the University of Arkansas. Danny was an avid Razorbacks fan and especially enjoyed attending football games in Fayetteville with his dad. He worked as a financial analyst at Mayvin, Inc., a contractor for the U.S. Marshals Service. Danny enjoyed traveling locally and abroad, was an avid reader, and loved spending time at home and with his family. He shared a special relationship with his nephew, Kameryn.

Danny was known for his kind, sweet spirit and quiet, thoughtful nature. He was a loyal friend with a quick sense of humor and a wonderful sly grin.

He is survived by his mother, father, and beloved big sister, Catherine Perry (Ken); nephew, Kameryn; aunts and uncles, James (JJ) Nisula, Julie (Mike) Sommerfeld, Mark (Georgia) Nisula, and Tod (Tracy) Hammond; cousins, Kyle (Yesenia), Carson, Andrew (Justine); Ellen (Grant), Dax, Luke, Texas, Harriet and Nihan. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Cynthia Klein Nisula, and Garland Eugene and Ruth Fredricks Hammond, and cousin, Hannah Nisula.

Danny loved the Lord and lived his life as an example of his faith. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Daniel will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. A rosary will occur Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 7:00 PM, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. A graveside service will occur Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749.

Serving as pallbearers are James Nisula, Mark Nisula, Ken Perry, Carson Sommerfeld, Kyle Sommerfeld and Mike Sommerfeld.
