Danny was born in Flatonia, Texas on October 31, 1955 to Raymond and Viola (Heimann) Jares, and spent his early years in the community of Flatonia. In addition to beginning his professional career with Prototype as a machinist, he served many years as a past Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus and as a member of the Flatonia Volunteer Fire Department. He was married in Flatonia in 1988, and later moved to Austin in 1992. He joined the University of Texas Physics Department working as a scientific instrument maker before moving to the Mechanical Engineering Department in the same capacity. He retired in 2018 after 26 years with the university. Danny enjoyed cooking barbeque competitively, fishing, traveling, playing dominoes, and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Mary Brigitte Beiter; his daughters, Megan Jares (Dustin Lecroy) and Katie Jares; his sister Jeanette (Mike) Webb; his brother Kenneth (Karole) Jares; nephews; and numerous extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Viola Jares.
