She was born on April 29, 1941, in San Antonio, TX, and grew up in Austin, TX with her Mother, Dorothy E Schmitt, Father, Henry L Schmitt, and Sister Judy Ann Davis. After she was married, she moved to Greenville, TX and adopted one daughter, Robin Derton, and had another daughter D’ann Jordan.
She was one of the founding members of Terrytown Baptist church, which was held in her parent’s living room. Before her marriage to her high school sweetheart, she was pursuing a degree at the University of Texas. She loved to travel with her husband to various places overseas and in the United States. Her daughters remember growing up traveling in their motorhome to different areas such as the Grand Canyon during the summer. She was a troop leader with her daughters’ Girl Scout troops. She was heavily involved with genealogy for her maiden and married family trees. She enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting, and playing chicken foot with neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Frank Wilson, Mother, Dorothy E Schmitt, Father, Henry L Schmitt, Sister Judy Ann Davis, and Niece Kimberley Eubanks.
She is survived by her children, Robin Derton and her husband Dennis, and D’ann Jordan, five grandchildren, Cynthia Wilson, James Emert, Christopher Derton, Robert Jordan and Liam Jordan, and her two nephews, Tim Davis and his wife Jan, and David Davis and his wife Laura.
The family would like to thank Brookdale North in San Marcos and Brookdale Round Rock for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days. While the loss of Dannye is hard on her family, they know her mind is set free of Alzheimer’s, and she is reunited with the ones she held dear.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Cook-Walden/Forrest Oaks Funeral Home with the family on January 22 at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Interment will be the following day at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks on January 23 at 11:00 AM.
