

David Bryan Blackburn, age 50, passed away June 21, 2013 at his residence in Austin, Texas. He was born at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas on September 25, 1962. David was an amazing man with a kind and gentle spirit who touched many peoples' lives. His infectious laugh, sense of humor, compassion and ability to see the truth in any situation are just some of the attributes that his friends and family will carry forward. David considered all of his friends his family, spending many evenings on the back patio laughing and joking. These memories of love and laughter will continue to live on with everyone he knew.
David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration from Kennedy-Western University. David worked as a Cash Application Manager at RC Billing. From 2008 to 2011, David and his partner Chuck owned Chuck's Deli in Manchaca, TX. David spent each morning baking at the Deli before going to work. It is just one example of how hard working and dedicated he was in his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hedwig Hornisch; his brother, James Ricky Blackburn; and his stepsister Marla Flugraph.
Survivors include his partner of 25 years Charles (Chuck) H. Wilkerson, Jr.; father James R. Blackburn; stepmother Margie Blackburn; brother Thomas G. Blackburn and sister-in-law Kim A. Blackburn; brother Timothy E. Blackburn and sister-in-law Laura Blackburn; sister Dolly Huff and brother-in-law Clinton Huff; stepbrother John Sanders; stepsister Terry Reed; numerous nieces and nephews; his beloved dog and companion Stetson; and extended family who loved him very much.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 25 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Shoreline Church, 15201 Burnet Road, Austin, TX. Graveside services will be held at noon on Thursday, June 27 in Bishop, TX at Restland Memory Park.
Pallbearers will be John Sanders, Josh Perry, BJ Scheible, Mark A. Wilkerson, Benjamin Wilkerson and Christopher Wilkerson.Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas G. Blackburn and Timothy E.Blackburn.
