Davie Jean Farris of Aransas Pass Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the age of 74. She is preceded in death by her parents Wesley Overton Davis, Nora Lee Black & Charles Black, as well as her brother Charles Davis.
She is survived by five sisters; Alberta Logsdon-Hair, Alice Boettger, Ruby Leanne Massingill, Thelma Reeves, Charlene Benton and their spouses.
She is also survived by her beloved children; Wesley Farris (spouse Susan), Sissy Larena Neimann (spouse Ricky), Shina Zmeko (spouse Lloyd) and Ed Farris (spouse Libby). Along with her 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many adopted family members.
Davie was a dedicated mother first and foremost, she treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma to all of her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her latest love was her beloved little Chloe.
Davie had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She was no stranger to anyone and made many friends everywhere she went. She lived her life as an example of one of her favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other as God has forgiven us.”
She was the most giving and compassionate person who had a big heart and loved everyone no matter what phase of their life they were in. She over-looked flaws and loved with a Christ-like unconditional love, not expecting anything in return. She kindly called everyone “Sweetie”, “Sweetheart” and “Babe”, knowing no stranger and welcoming all into her home. She was an incredibly genuine person with no pretention in her bones, she was truly authentic. She gave all of us a gift by just knowing her.
She gave freely what the whole world needs desperately: real compassion, deep heartfelt kindness, a giving soul, a heart full of love for others, an ear to listen and someone to laugh with. Most of all, she loved her family more than life itself. She is not suffering anymore and for that, we are at peace in our hearts. We will miss her greatly and we will cry when a memory flashes in our minds but rest assured that she is pain free, full of joy, hope, peace and surrounded by God’s everlasting love.
