

Dillie Fishbeck, age 89, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Hearthstone Health Center in Round Rock, TX. She was born June 2, 1918 in El Campo, TX and was the last survivor of 9 children born to Henry and Dillie Matthews. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marilynn and Bob Craghead of Ogden, UT; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Mickey Fishbeck of Austin; son, Chuck Fishbeck of Round Rock; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren. Dillie was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Wilton, who was the love of her life; daughter, Carolyn Bishop; and a grandson. She retired from the Texas Real Estate Commission in 1980 as Data Processing Manager. She had been in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Data Processing Management Association, and the National Machine Accounting Association. Dillie was a devoted member of the Central Christian Church and played an enormous role in the religious education of all her children. All who knew her were amazed by her energy and bubbly personality. She and Wilton were wonderful dancers together and she continued this passion long after his death. Dillie loved to travel with her hen friends to such places as Las Vegas, Coushatta Casinos in Louisiana, and even to Italy. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 3125 N. Lamar. Services will be held there Monday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Austin Memorial Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hearthstone for their kindness to Mother and for the care they provided these past 2 years.
