Dotty Lee Pearson, age 91, passed away surrounded by her loved ones at home. Dotty was born in Leander, TX just a few miles away in a 2 room house to Nep & Ola Hyatt. Being born during the Great depression the little family house had a leaky roof and drafty walls. Dotty always knew there would be food on the table. She resided in Williamson, County all her days. She saw a lot of changes in this little community from dirt roads, one church, a gas station with a post office in the back to now it being one of the Nation's fastest growing cities.
Dotty Pearson attended Leander schools and developed a love for reading. The other love she found in Leander was her sweetheart, T.M. Pearson. They married right after her high school graduation, June 4, 1948. They were blessed with 68 wonderful years together. During that time, Dotty & T.M. had a beautiful little girl Karen Lee Poole, April 16, 1953. Dotty was a homemaker until Karen went to be the feature Twirler at the University of Texas. Dotty went to work at the IRS as a Tax Technician. She retired from the IRS in 1990.
Dotty Pearson’s faith in the Lord began to grow when she was a little girl. When the storms of life came she was able to stand strong. Dotty was a member of Keypoint Church (Whitestone AG) in Cedar Park, TX for over 60 years. During that time, Dotty and TM served faithfully together in many different areas. Her faith was more than attending and teaching at church. Dotty was a prayer warrior for all who knew her. She always made sure to share and instill God’s Word with her family. She never sugar coated anything when it came to the Word. If you were doing wrong she would let you know but she would also pray with you and for you. That is how she would end every phone conversation with her loved ones…I am praying for you.
T.M. and Dotty enjoyed playing dominoes with friends and family. Traveling was one thing they looked forward to every Summer. They covered most of the USA and Canada. Dotty enjoyed sharing several trips with her brother & sister-in-law Joe & Ida Nell Pearson. Dotty and TM had a love for the mountains, especially Colorado. When their granddaughters, Misty and Summer got old enough they couldn’t wait to take them along for a summer adventure. The grand trip was taking their great-grandchildren, William & Laurann, on the same adventure that they had taken their mother, Misty, on when she was a little girl. For rest and relaxation they would take a short drive to their son-in-law and daughters Ranch in San Saba. Both enjoyed watching the wildlife. Dotty enjoyed riding her four wheeler although she drove it up a tree or sitting and reading. Dotty continued to travel after TM passed. She went on a senior bus trip with friend Bobbie Stone. They had a wonderful time and made treasured memories.
Dotty will be lovingly remembered by her son-in-law, Kurt Poole, of Leander, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Misty and Tommy Lane of Leander, great grandson, William Lane of Leander, great granddaughter, Laurann Lane attending Nursing school in San Angelo, Texas. She also leaves behind many loving family members and friends.
Dotty was preceded in death by her son, Karey Pearson, granddaughter, Summer Hargett, daughter, Karen Lee Poole and husband, T.M. Pearson.
A funeral service for Dotty will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 3:00 PM at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX 78750.
