Dorothy was preceded by parents, Olof Bryan and Ethel Mae Kullenburg; her husband Hollis (Red) Polvado; her two sons, Wayne and Dale Polvado and her siblings, Kathryn, Bernice, Laverne, Gene, and Sonny.
Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Carolyn Maris and Hollie Bierlein; and son Hollis C. Polvado.
Her world centered around her love for God, family, and friends. Her children and grandchildren were her life. For decades Dorothy remembered her loved one's by mailing Christmas and birthday cards. This was extremely important to her. She never forgot anyone's birthday.
She loved a pretty yard and loved her flowers. She wasn't happy unless she had a little dirt under her fingernails! She loved to get dressed up with perfect hair and makeup even into her 90's. She was to her children an example of what it meant to be a classy lady.
She loved the holidays and her tiny house filled to overflow with her family. It sometimes was total chaos and she loved it because we were all together and that was her joy.
The family's favorite dish was her cornbread dressing... until later in her life, she decided to simplify her recipe by using Stovetop stuffing and canned soup. It did not go over well!
Although Dorothy will be missed, we will keep her fun-loving spirit and smile in our hearts forever knowing that we will see her again.
A graveside service for Dorothy will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Live Oak Cemetery, Twin Creek Road, Manchaca, Texas 78652.
