
I was almost 6 years old when I first met Dottie and have never forgotten her.  It seemed like she was always laughing and smiling!  I remember how she used to sit me down and dig those Texas "chiggers" out of me with her red finger nails.  She was magical to this little girl then - and now 60 years later.  The Army shipped my family off and we had to leave our pals Scotsy and Roby in San Antonio (but we still have your pictures!).  My sister, Gerri, and I have never forgotten the Pemberton family through all these years.  We are sad to hear of Dottie's passing.  She sure made quite a wonderful impression on her neighbors, the Spillers family.



Dottie was one of the nicest people I know.  She will be sadly missed.



I will miss you grandotty. I love you so much. I remember a song we use to sing together. All around the corn feild looking for a hair. Where did it go to, Right up under there. And then you would tickle me and make me laugh. It was funny. I have a picture of us. I look at it every time i go to sleep. You have on a red shirt. You look pretty. Me and my mommy love you. I will talk to you again, i like to write letters. I love you, love Jada



Momma i love you very much. I miss you and will always think of you when iI see a flower or plant. You taught me so much but I know now you are happy being with Reed and Danny. Dad is going to be fine but misses you very much as we all do.    Save a place for me to help you in your garden in heaven. Grand was a beautiful person.  She loved her family and we loved her.  I remember spending summers with her and Pop,Kristin and Reed, and Austin.  I so looked forward to being with them.  I regret that I live so far away and could not see her more before she died.  Amber had so much fun when she went too.  I am glad she was able to experance Grand.  She will be missed, but always in my heart.

George sorry to hear about your mom.  She was born about 50 miles from where I was born, El Dorado.  My wife's dad and one of my aunts lived in West Monroe for years.



When Thinking of Dottie I would always remember her creative mind in the garden and wish I had that had in me that seem to come naturally for her. When being around her I would always feel welcome and she seem to lift my spirits by just being around her. Although I did not know her well, just being around her you could tell there was just a little more to her than just meets the eye. After meeting her I saw a little of her in George (roby) with his creativeness. I wish the best for George in continuing his life without her and would welcome him in my home anytime as I see him as good people. Nothing can be said to ease the pain but I would hope just the cheerful memories of her would get you by.
