Eddie Gene Bunton

He attended school in Buda, Texas. After school, he joined the U.S. Army. He is a Vietnam Veteran. He was awarded medals for National Defense Service Medal and Marksman Badge for the Rifle M16. He was a member of the Buffalo Soldiers for many years.

Eddie worked for AISD in the transportation department as a school bus driver. He went on from there to the City of Austin where he retired after 18+ years.

Eddie will be remembered for his big smile and his love of horses and fishing with his brothers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene & Argie Bunton, three sisters, Exelee Bonner, Chris Bunton & Betty Jo Green, and two brothers George and David Bunton.

Eddie leaves behind cherishing his memories, three children, Argene Bunton, Jennifer Bunton and Tyrell Johnson, his four brothers, John Bunton, Mozel Bunton, James Bunton and Clarence Bunton and one sister Virginia Wright, his loving friend Barbara Davis, who he shared many precious memories with and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life for Eddie will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Fuller Sheffield Funeral Services, 2808 E. MLK Jr. Blvd., Austin, TX 78702.
