

Ed Hayward, 88, of Austin, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014. He was born on December 1, 1925 to Charles and Losie Hayward in Savannah, Missouri. Ed is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lyla; son Greg; granddaughters Kaitlyn and Emilee; sister Helen Lott; brother George and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Edward was the sixth of eight children. He attended Savannah High School, graduating in 1943. He earned three college degrees; obtaining both a Bachelors in Education and Chemistry from The University of Missouri and a Bachelors in Pharmacy from The University of Texas. Ed, an active member of the TX Pharmaceutical Assoc for 50+ years, owned and operated pharmacies in Dallas and Grapevine until moving to Austin where he was Chief Pharmacist in Long Term Care for the state of Texas.
Ed was an active member of Anderson Mill Baptist Church for many years. He enjoyed his retirement years traveling, spending time with family and watching his beloved Missouri Tigers and Texas Longhorns football teams.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 15 at 2pm at Anderson Mill Baptist Church.
