Elida worked for and retired from the State of Texas Department, an accomplishment she was very proud of and where she acquired many lifetime friends.
She was a beloved and adored mom, grandma and great-grandma, and would do anything and everything for all of her family. She was feisty at times and always spoke her mind, but she did so out of love and from the best place in her heart. She will be greatly missed by all, but the family takes comfort in knowing she has gained her heavenly wings and is reunited with her husband Jimmy, her parents, and her best friend Mary who lovingly called Elida – “Leader”.
Elida is survived by her brothers Buddy (Janie) Aleman, Zeke (Millie) Layo, and Edward Aleman; two daughters, Michelle and Raquel; grandchildren Victoria, Sonny, Matthew, Jacob, Christopher, and Andrew; and great-grandchildren Crystal and Michael. She was preceded in death by the love of her life Jimmy Rivas, and her parents.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-8:00pm with Rosary at 7:00pm on Thursday, February 13, 2020 in the Colonial Chapel of Cook Walden Funeral Home in Austin, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, 78752.
