Mrs. Fisher  and sons, verry few days go bye when I don't hear your husband/ fathers voice; telling me to "stand strong in your faith Hope". He will always be cherished and his memory lives on inside each of you. Your love runs much, much deeper.  But his foot print was so BIG in my life. Love and prayers to you all. Elmer Jr we talked at Dollar store months back if that helps you remember who I am. I had just lost my sister Shay to lung cancer Oct. 2018. God bless you all. Hope

To the Fisher Family: It has been almost 365 days since Elmer went home to meet Jesus and reunite with the elders of the Fisher family. He is free and has been made whole, no more pain, no sickness. We know you miss him. He knows he was loved, Fisher love runs deep.  Continue to lean on His everlasting arms and share the stories and love of baby brother.

One year ago today you were called away. We miss your face and smile, but know that you're at peace, pain free and now a heavenly child.  We will always keep your memory alive in our hearts.

To Shirley & family & the entire Fisher family, we send our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to each of you as you say your earthy goodbye to Elmer, such an integral part of your family and the Austin community. My friend Elmer, has had a reverent friendly & proud personality every  since I met him back in the mid 1960's. The love he had for his fellow man was amplified by a genuine ability to communicate with all people, about whatever they were going through. I worked with him at Centex Beverage and he made such an impression on me and I have never forgotten him.  (Not to mention that the Fisher family is intermingled with my family :))  Elmer was so professional, sincere, caring, funny, and loving.  His life has truly made a difference in mine. May the Lord be with you through this difficult time.  I will personally remember how he would laugh and tease me about how I was when I was a baby.  He was such a character and a wonderful father to Sean and Elmer Jr.  The Fisher family is in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences  go out to the Fisher family. Elmer was always somebody that I really enjoyed seeing when he would drop by my store in Manor. He could be the most sincere person on one hand and then he could turn it around and make you laugh on the other. We played several of rounds of golf together in our mini tournaments we used to have at Manor. I saw him a few weeks back at DBL R grocery and got to visit with him. I wanted to send my deepest sympathy to the Fisher family. Mr. Fisher was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law and most of all a great grandfather to his grandkids.  He will be missed by them all.  I pray God give each one of you comfort and peace to know that he is gone and he will not be forgotten. Just keep the memories and know that you were truly loved by a great man.

Elmer was my boss for many years at Centex Beverage and what a great boss / friend he was. He always wore a smile and had a funny thing to say about everything. We could never be in a hurry out in the field because everyone knew Elmer and wanted to chat with him. When he found out that my real first name was George, that became my name to him. I'll never forget making a great shot off the tee of a par 3 at Bluebonnet and Elmer saying "George, that's looking pretty good, George! George !!!" the ball was 2" from going in.... I have many, many, similar memories. What a great guy that I'll always cherish. Deepest sympathies to the Fisher family.

I wanted to send my deepest condolences to the Fisher family. I am the daughter of Clara Dumas Young formerly Clara Dumas Hodge, and 2nd cousin to Elmer Fisher, and when I was younger all momma talked about was her cousins Elmer, Vanstine, and George Fisher, and they were her hearts she always talked about how they were growing up, and I had the chance to meet them all, and I must say Elmer was the craziest to me. They all were funny, but he was a riot. That is all I remember about him, and I know with lack of time, and life's pressure we don't get together as much as we should, and it's only when someone in the family passes away, and we always talk about how we need to see one another, but we don't. I was saddened  to hear that he had passed away, and I was even more sad for my mother because I know how close they all were to one another. I am sad, but I am not sad because I know that he will return, and he will be brand new, and all the other people who have preceded him in death Uncle B, and Aunt Ernestine will all return and they will be brand new, and that will I will hold on to. I wish the family nothing, but peace right now because I know it's hard to bury a parent, but hold on to the fact that they are no longer hurting, or in any pain, but now we have to endure and get through this rough evil world. I just wanted to express my condolences and tell you all how sorry I am and that this to shall pass. Hold on to all the awesome memories of your father, uncle, and brother. I only had the privilege to meet Elmer in the past few years, at the Austin Doctors Building, and through Harrison Fresch. He was the one nicest guys you could meet. I am the first one in the building, so when he would open up for Harrison, we got to know each other. He has helped me with various other things, telling me awesome stories along the way, especially about his son. He even brought his gorgeous Mustang up to the building to show it off to us, letting us drool all over it - such pride!! I am heartbroken, but so very thankful that I had the honor of meeting and befriending such a wonderful man. Please know that you are in my thoughts.

Reverend Ira L Lewis - Austin, TX - Austin High Graduate '69...  I knew Brother Elmer Fisher in passing and found him to be a friendly man, and I always had high regards for the man, he was.  Though I had not personally been in contact with him for sometime, yet, he is already missed as an enhance contribution to Austin; especially Black East Austin...
