

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hans Victor and Esther Marie Johnson Carlson; brother, Raymond Carlson; sister, Berniece Nelson; son, Eric Carlson; and daughter Janet Carlson Scott.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Erin Carlson; daughters, Karen and Christine Carlson; son-in-law, Charles Scott; and grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Karen Scott.
Swede retired as a Lt Colonel from the US Air Force after 28 years of meritorious service and then worked for the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation for 18 years as Wage and Salary Administrator. After his second retirement his favorite past times included deer hunting in San Saba, playing pool at Deep Eddy Cabaret and lending his wealth of knowledge to the City of Rollingwood where he lived for more than 40 years. He served on the board of adjustment for ten years, the city council for 6 years and as precinct judge for many years. Swede will be remembered for his quick wit, unassuming demeanor and willingness to help anyone in need.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. There will be a memorial service at Weed-Corley-Fish on South Congress, Saturday, December 18 at 3:00 pm. A celebration of his life will follow at his home in Rollingwood.
