Emilee Jean Hayward, 20, passed away on January 31st of 2026 in Houston, Texas. She was born on October 16th of 2005 to Greg and Alisha Hayward in Austin, TX. She is survived by her sisters, Kaitlyn Hayward and Savana Young; grandparents, Lyla Hayward, Judy & Richard Westmoreland; Great-Grandmother Olene; and numerous amazing cousins.
Emilee was someone who truly lit up when it came to the things she loved, especially music. She adored all kinds of music, but her favorites included Foxy Shazam, Weezer, and Gorillaz. One of the greatest joys for her family was listening to her play the piano and keyboard, moments that perfectly captured her creativity and heart.
Emilee could talk just about anything. She loved makeup, musicals, concerts, and sharing the things that excited her. She was fast to start collecting and had a love for life. She had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor, and she always left an impression on those around her.
Her bond with her dog, Mr. C, was something truly special. He was her goofy sidekick and constant companion, getting to see every side of Emilee. She loved him more deeply than anything, and caring for him brought her endless joy. She spent so many of her days doting on Mr. C.
Emilee was growing into a beautiful woman and beginning a new chapter of her life in Houston. She worked at a sweet little bakery, was continuing her creative journey and was also eager to receive her driving permit.
She was preceded in death by her papaw, Edward Hayward, and cousin Kourtney Westmoreland. We also know she is with family animals Niko, Beaux, and Lou.
She loved her grandparents dearly, and is surely happy to be reunited with her Papaw.
Family meant everything to Emilee. She had a rare gift for making each person feel loved in their own unique way. She could go to her mom, Alisha with anything and held immense adoration for her father, Greg. Emilee deeply admired her two older sisters, Kaitlyn and Savana. She found comfort and safety in them.
Emilee was also a proud and loving auntie to Waylon. She adored babies, and becoming “Auntie E” to Waylon was a dream come true for her.
Over the past 5 years Emilee has built a bond with her partner, Luke, and his family. They have taken her in like their own! She loved the big family gatherings and admired all the love they had for each other. Emilee greatly looked up to Luke’s mother, Michelle.
Emilee was deeply loved by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her humor, warmth, creativity, and love will be carried forward by those who hold her close in their hearts.
