Enrique was born on May 21, 1922, in Seven Sisters, Texas to Amelia Fuentes Serna and Refugio Serna. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge and a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Enrique retired from Mrs. Baird's Bakery after thirty years in that business.
Survivors include his children; Raquel Serna Gonzales, Enrique Serna, Jr., Eladio Serna and wife Toni, Rosie Serna Baldwin and husband Steve; sister, Adela Knight and brother, Armando Serna; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A gathering of friends and family will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 2620 S. Congress in Austin. A Vigil Service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery in Austin.
