Ernestlea Dickerson Williams was received by the Heavenly Father on November 4, 2005 following a long and hard fought battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Bronson, Texas, on October 26th, 1930 and spent her growing up years in Jasper, Texas. Ernestlea was proud of being a 5th generation Texan and never forgot her roots in the piney woods of deep East Texas. Ernestlea married the love of her life, A. Paul Williams, on 18 August 1949, and together they raised two daughters, Lilea and Paula. Their early marriage took them to College Station where Paul was completing his education and there she became an avid member of the Aggie family. Ernestlea was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved life and laughter especially with her family. Walking in the woods and showing Gods creations to her grandchildren were special joys to her. She also provided the inspiration for creating a prayer shawl ministry at St. Matthews Episcopal Church where an ever-expanding group of committed members have touched hundreds of lives by providing free, handmade shawls to anyone in need. She was a loyal and trustworthy friend to many and counted each friend a blessing. She will be so deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Ernest Dickerson, her mother Lillie McCree Dickerson and her infant son, Michael Paul Williams. Left to cherish her life and celebrate her memory are her husband, A. Paul Williams; daughters Lilea Williams Kazmann of Austin and Paula Williams Foore and husband, Glenn of Austin, grandchildren Jordan Kazmann of Austin, Asher Kazmann of Houston, Colter Kazmann of Richardson, and Darrelle, Jessie and Creel Foore all of Austin. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Teneriello and the staff at Texas Oncology for their care and support during Ernestleas battle with cancer, Dr. Byron Welch of Capital Nephrology for his kind and gentle care and the caregivers of Odyssey Austin who were so important to Ernestlea and her family during the final weeks of her life. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM at St. Matthews Episcopal Church on Wednesday, November 9 with a reception following in Huffman Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Prayer Shawl Ministry or the Permanent Endowment Fund at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Austin, Texas.
