Born: Dec. 15, 1928 La Mesa, Texas Departed: May 14, 2010 Resided in Bastrop Co., Texas On May 14th this world said a sorrowful goodbye to an incredible woman of God. Her prayers stand as a monument before the Lord. On that day Heaven became a little bit richer as she walked through the pearly gates. Fay loved God and was a dedicated member of the PromiseLand Church for 34 years. She started working at the age of 14 as a clerk at Sweet Cleaners and a Telephone Operator in Austin, Texas. She then worked as a credit manager for Sears and started her own business as a Licensed Private Investigator in California specifically in the collection field. She moved back to Austin in 1976 where she worked for Texas Commerce as a Bank Officer until retirement and then started a business as a Real-Estate Agent and Property Manager which she continued until the day she died. As she passed to her eternal place of worship she joined hands with her husband and bowed before the King of Kings singing with the elders saying Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty the one who was and is and is to come. Oh what a glorious hope she had in this earth and now, revealed before her, joy as none has ever known. Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother we will desperately miss you. A Quiet, simple, sweet spirited way of sharing your wisdom. A woman full of grace, integrity, character and wisdom. You are gone but not forgotten, your legacy will live on in us, your posterity. Fay was preceded in death by her loving husband Sharkey of 55 years on Jul. 22, 2003, Father Jodie Smith, mother Minnie Vashti Smith, her grandson Johnny and her sister Elwanda.
