Esther M. Ruiz

Esther M. Ruiz of Kyle, Texas has left us to join our heavenly Father. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Esther was loved by all who knew her. Her family and friends knew that they could always count on her to be there for them. She was an avid animal and plant lover and also enjoyed embroidering and cooking. Esther was well known for her wonderful tamales. She was preceded in death by her father, Merejildo Martinez, her brother Ricardo and her loving husband, Esteban V. Ruiz. She is survived by her mother, Sirilda Martinez; children, Linda Jones and husband Elton, Esteban Ruiz, Jr., Carlos Ruiz and wife Rosalinda, and Sara Garza and husband Joe. Her grandchildren are John Thomas, Rachel Nicole, Carlos Rene, Marcus Anthony and Joshua Aaron Ruiz and Krystal Marie Garza. She has one great-grandson, Jacob Aaron Ruiz, and another one on the way. Other survivors include three sisters, Guadalupe Reyna, Elida Ornelas, and Ramona Boswell and two brothers, Lorenzo Martinez and Father Adam Martinez, and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home, followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated in her honor by her brother, Rev. Adam Martinez at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 600 Loop 4 North, Buda, Texas. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Mendoza, Texas.
