Evelyn Lee Seale

Evelyn was born in Paris, Texas. She was the third born of five siblings of Gilbert and Ora Streety.

She was a graduate of Paris High School in 1948. Following high school, she attended Paris Junior College.

While employed in Lubbock, Texas, she renewed her friendship and later married the love of her life, Billy Joe Seale. They were joined in holy matrimony in the Immanuel Baptist Church in Paris, Texas March 4, 1950.

She and Joe welcomed their first child, Suzanne, born in the post hospital in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. Suzanne and her husband, Daryl, live in Austin, Texas. A second child, Shae, was born in Commerce, Texas while his dad was earning a graduate degree. Shae, his wife Pam, and her son, Nick, also live in Austin, Texas.

Evelyn was an active member of Hyde Park Baptist Church for almost 50 years. She served numerous times as president of her Sunday school class, active in WMU, and in many other church activities. The church auction was one of her favorite services.

She was a member for many years of several bridge groups. She often stated that bridge was secondary to her fun and enjoyment with the other ladies. She highly valued her social life with friends.

Her siblings, Jack Streety, Reba Kirby (Darius), and Ann Lackey (Marvin), predeceased her. Her youngest sister, Gail Alldredge (Ron), lives in Plano, Texas.

Evelyn was loved and respected by numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, and neighbors. They will miss her warm smiles and words of encouragement.

A celebration of her life will be held in the Hyde Park Baptist Chapel, 3901 Speedway, Austin, Texas, Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
