Faithful servant, loving wife, devoted mother, and beloved grandmother Lola.
Today, we celebrate Florecilla Antonio Ventura's beautiful life—a woman whose natural warmth and quiet strength touched everyone blessed enough to know her. She returned peacefully to her Creator, leaving a legacy of love, tenderness, and ever-present faith.
Born to Isabel Buted and Moises Antonio, Florecilla grew up in a home filled with adoration and grounded in strong values. She pursued her education at Cagayan Teachers College, where her passion for learning and dedication to service began to bloom. She went on to serve as Executive Assistant to the Chief Justice of the Court of Appeals of the Philippines—a role she held with diligence and grace. Her work spoke to her respectability, intelligence, and strong sense of responsibility.
Florecilla, lovingly known as Lola, was much more than her accomplishments. She was the heart of her family—a guiding light, nurturing soul, and source of boundless love. She had a special gift for making everyone she came in contact with feel important, seen, and cared for. To her grandchildren and beyond, Lola wasn’t just their grandmother— she was everyone’s grandmother, happy to welcome all with open arms, a kind smile, and a warm plate of food .
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Manuel Ventura Sr., her dear parents, her son Manuel Fiorello Ventura, and her siblings Jose Antonio, Josefa Pattugallan, Quintin Antonio, Jaime Antonio, and Georgie Antonio. We take comfort in knowing they are joyfully reunited in eternal peace.
Lola is survived by her children, Manuel and Victoria Ventura, Isabel and Gavino Mendez, Manuel Jr. and May Ventura, Maria V. de Leon (wife of the late Manuel Fiorello Ventura), Manuel Michael and Violeta Ventura, Manuel Honorio and Annie Ventura, Florecilla and Dennis Romero, Christa Beltran, and Moises and Analisa Ventura—each of whom carries her fond memory and valued principles in their hearts. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Candida Legaspi, Priscilla Icart, and Eddie Antonio.
Her life was richly blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the thrill and pride of her heart and soul. To them, she was their comfort, a never-failing shoulder to lean on, a wise advisor, and a steady, calming presence. She shared with them the story of her life— stories filled with excitement, wisdom, and humor, all while providing gentle lessons of experience.
To her friends, colleagues, and extended family, Florecilla was a woman of deep compassion and quiet strength. She gave kindness freely and brought peace simply by being present.
Always exuding an aura of elegance and grace— her hair, nails, and makeup done just so. But more than that, it was the way she carried herself. A woman of composure and refinement. She loved to travel, to laugh with friends over a game of mahjong, and she was, without a doubt, the most feared player at the poker table— schooling her grandson and his friends, young boys that she would delightfully watch grow into lovely men. She found pleasure in cooking for those she loved: making lumpia for family gatherings, pancit that was always requested and even craved during pregnancy, and chicken adobo that nobody has made better— meals and moments that will continue to leave a lasting memory for the many hearts she so easily touched. That was her way: giving and thoughtful, never missing a chance to be considerate of others with her generous spirit.
Today, we remember her not only in sorrow, but in deep gratitude—for a life so fully lived, for the love she poured into this world, and for the lasting impact she leaves behind in all of us. Though we mourn her passing, we hold fast to her 92 remarkable years of effortless grace, bold devotion, and a love that endures beyond words.
