Fran, a mother of five children, was born Oct. 7th 1948 in Kansas City MO. She returned as an infant to the Austin area and quickly, thru the years, showed her liking for the outdoors. While attending Travis High School, Fran began a lifelong passion for wildlife by working at the Austin Natural Science Center rehabilitating wild animals. Fran managed to balance her family and friends, love of the outdoors, her gardening and landscaping, along with all of the responsibilities of a home. She also had a love of baking, which was evident by fresh cookies and baked treats, which were never in short supply for her grandkids.
Affectionately known as the “Technology Guru” by her family, she could always be called upon to help with computer questions or needs. She loved to travel, which included 47 of the 50 states and various countries around the world. In the evenings, Fran enjoyed spending time with and feeding her four legged children, “the raccoons”, which made their home in the greenbelt behind her house.
Fran was preceded by her Grandparents, Viola B. White and Robert Leon White, who served as the supervising architect at the University of Texas in the 1930’s and her parents Cecil Emory Heard and Elaine Frances Heard.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Dale Hargrove, of Round Rock, TX, her children Philip R. Terrell of Corpus Christi, TX, Brian S. Terrell and his wife, Sarah of Littleton, CO, and Janice M. Posey of Georgetown, TX, Jeff Hargrove of Dallas, TX, Craig Hargrove and his wife, Stacy, of Austin. Fran’s grandchildren include; Bryan, Kayla, Lauren, Natalie, Megan, and “Pumpkin” (the 6th Grandchild on the way), and her brothers, William and Robert Heard of Bastrop, TX.
