

Frances Lorraine Bryant Meier sailed out of our sight and into Eternity on August 5, 2013 in Austin, Texas; after battling declining health for some time. Fran was born in Austin, Texas on September 26, 1930. She spent her childhood and youth in Austin. Fran married Thomas J. Bryant on October 4, 1947, and they soon moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. There, they lived and made a life while raising three children. In 1968 the family moved to Augusta, Kansas. By the summer of 1971 the family had returned to Houston, Texas. Wherever she went, fun loving Fran always filled a room with humor and laughter. She loved people and helping others. She enjoyed gardening, picnics, camping and the outdoors with her family, and making a happy and comfortable Christian home. She was also very creative in her floral design of wreathes, and custom arrangements. In her lifetime Fran worked for an orthodontist, and a dentist, besides helping with the operation of the family equipment business in Houston. Fran spent the last 17 years of her life, with lifetime friend and husband Bill Meier back in Austin. In her later years, she and Bill looked after others and volunteered with several groups within their community, and the Austin area. She is survived by husband Bill Meier, daughters Beverly Moore (Gary) of Portland, TX; Brenda Bryant McCoskey (Craig) of Andover, KS; and son Jeff Bryant (Teresa) of Houston, TX. Other survivors include stepchildren, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas J Bryant, and infant granddaughter, Leslie. Memorial Services will be held, 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 31, 2013, Davis Chapel of Cook Walden Funeral Home.
