

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Gary Alex Anaya, who left us on August 28, 2023, due to an unforeseen medical complication from a routine outpatient procedure. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death and will be missed by everyone’s lives he touched. He was surrounded by his family in his final moments with an outpouring of love and appreciation. Gary, as he was called by his family, and Alex as his friends called him, was 57 years old born to Louis and Anna Anaya. He was born in Kenedy, Texas on July 10, 1966, and grew up in Karnes City, Texas, where he graduated high school. Gary later pursued his passion for the field of business and finance and attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating in 1991 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He later found his passion in real estate appraisal, where he became one of the most successful appraisers in the Austin Metropolitan area.
Gary Alex will be greatly missed by his mother, Anna Anaya, brother Joshua Anaya (wife, Hope Anaya); sisters Lisabeth Anaya Gonzales (husband, Abel Gonzales), Maddie Anaya-Martinez (husband, Chris Martinez); soulmate Sandra Richards, and his sweet red nose pit bull, Guera. He was an amazing uncle to Alex, Camren, Bella, Brianna, AJ, Alyssa and Carson, who he treated like his own. He made it a point to have a special connection with each of them and loved them unconditionally. Gary is preceded in death by his father Louis Anaya.
Gary Alex had the biggest heart and life quest journey which touched the souls of so many. He was a world traveler and an adventurous food connoisseur who had a unique fashion and style sense all his own. He was loved and admired by many. His passions included gardening, cooking, and hosting fabulous gatherings at home. He cultivated special relationships with his friends and treated them all as family. He had an innate ability to engage personally with whoever he was with giving them unconditional love and attention.
A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 6:30 PM at Weed Corley Fish Funeral and Cremation Services located at 5416 Parkcrest Drive in Austin, Texas.
Rest in peace dear son, brother, uncle and friend. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
