Gary attended school in Dyersville and Earlville, Illinois. He was raised on a large cattle farm. Gary graduated from Earlville High School, when he was eighteen years old, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served for four years. He graduated from the University of Alaska with a degree in Business.
In his life on this earth, Gary followed his heart in his accomplishments. He loved water and sunshine, which led him to own and operate many marinas in Texas. Prior to his passing, Gary worked for the State of Texas as an auditor. He was expecting to fully retire within the next few years.
Gary was a fun, kind, and generous man. He did not stray far from the people he loved and cared for.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer; granddaughter, Melody; brothers, sisters; friends and family.
Gary’s physical heart may have given out too soon, but not the one that he embraced us all with, and the one he now lives with in heaven. The sunshine in heaven has embraced him and God has taken him to sit beside Him.
We miss you Gary and our love will continue on. May the arms of the angels hold you now and forever and give you comfort.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Baldwin of Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship officiating.
