
My heart goes out to Aunt Paula and the family regarding the news of Uncle George.      Despite the regional distance and years of time, I remember a moment shared back in childhood when Uncle George and Aunt Paula came to visit us in NJ. Jason and I had an incredible day spending time with our aunt and uncle from TX:   We enjoyed an afternoon bowling, sharing conversation, and eating tacos.  (With all the stories I'm hearing about Uncle George enjoying fishing, I regret that we missed the opportunity).    Most of all, I remember how friendly and kind Uncle George was to my brother and I, even though it was only a short visit long ago.  And I'll remember how warm and inviting his smile was.    Aunt Paula, we love you and our thoughts/prayers are with you during this time--Doreen and other family members as well. George will always hold a special place in our hearts.  We will miss him very much, but know we will see him again when we meet in heaven.  Our most heart-felt condolences to his family.



Dearest Uncle George:  Thank you so much for takeing such good care of my Aunt Paula for all those years.  I knew when I met you at your wedding that you were the right person for my aunt.    Your gentle spirit and sweet smile warmed my heart and I could see in Aunt Paula's eyes that she was finally happy in her life.    If two people needed each other more it was you and Aunt Paula.  God is diffenately good.  I have a hard time with death but I know for a fact that god has already mad you one of his special angels.  Please keep watching over Aunt Paula and help her to know that everything will be alright and that you are still with her even though she can't see you.  The best times Jim and I talk about is the weekends we spent playing dominos and spending time at the lake.  You always made us feel welcome and always made us laugh.  Now I feel guilty beating you in all those times.  lol. =)  I love you forever and love you for loveing so freely.  May everyone learn that special gift from you and keep it always. George was quite a guy. We count ourselves lucky to be friends with him. He was like another part of our family. Our hearts and prayers go out to Paula, Doreen, and the rest of George's family. He will be greatly missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting George when he and Paula would come to visit Doreen and her family. After they moved to Austin, George would be out buzzing up and down the street on his scooter, always with a friendly smile, wave and a kind word. I am glad that I had the chance to meet and know a man as kind as George. He will be missed.

Opa, we are going to miss all the afternoons you spent with us, the laughs we shared, the stories you told us, and the songs you made up for us. Most of all we are going to miss your smiling face, you cheering for me at football games, and the special times we had on vacations together. You do not have to worry about us for we will make you and Omi proud. We know that you are in heaven watching over us with our Granny & Pawpa.

My grandpa, a person who could always made me smile. One who taught me so much about people, gas tanks, and fishing. My grandpa, such a person I would want to be like. What a honor to have him in my life.   I LOVE YOU!    To my grandma you have always been a woman of pride and amazing love. My heart is with you always. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH GRANDMA!

My time with you over the past 52 years will not be forgotten.  The first letter I ever received was from you.  I still have it.  You wrote it in 1955...I was 3 days old when we got it.  Our family has so many great, fun, momories of all the times we vacationed together at the beach and in Kingsville.  We will miss all the fishing stories. It was a great honor to know a man like George. He always had a way of turning a bad situation into a not so bad one. His soft spirit and love for life was a great inspiration for all of us.
