

Gerald met the love of his life Ann Marie Schmidt after being introduced to her by Maudie of Maudie’s Café where Ann was working. They were married on September 16, 1967 in Austin, Texas at Faith Lutheran Church. Gerald worked for Ford Motor Company for over 35 years until his retirement in 1997. After his retirement from Ford, the avid golfer that he was, he began working for Woodcreek Golf Course in Wimberley and then went to work for Barton Creek Golf Course until his retirement in 2008. Gerald was an avid golfer and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He will be remembered as a doting grandfather, loving father and wonderful husband who will be missed dearly by everyone blessed to have known him.
Gerald is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Hill and his parents.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Ann M. Hill; daughter, Kimberly D. Hill; grandchildren, Jacob M. and LiLyAnn L. Smith; siblings, Charles Hill and wife Mary, Ken Hill and wife Linda, Margie Rich, Louis Hill and wife Jeanie, Patricia Hill, Charlene Hill, Jimmy Hill, Jacque Hill, Judy Schlichting and husband Tim and Tim Hill and numerous other loving family members and friends.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at The Karnes City Cemetery, 500 W. Riddleville St, Karnes City Texas, 78118.
A Memorial service will also be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Southwest Christian Church, 10500 Old Manchaca Road in Austin, Texas.
