Geraldine H. Gault

Jerry was born September 22, 1930, in Austin, Texas. She was the youngest of eight children to Glenn and Ellen Munson of Manor, Texas. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She is survived by one brother, Lester Munson of Abilene, Texas; Two children, Greg Gault and wife Teri of Canyon Country California, Glenna Howle and husband Randall of Leander, Texas; Five Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Jerry attended Austin High School, where she met Joe Wilson Gault. On April 3, 1948 Geraldine married Joe Gault in the United Methodist Church, downtown Austin, where they both sang in the church choir. They were happily married for 56 years.

Living a full and eventful life, Jerry had several different careers in her lifetime. From private secretary for the head of the Texas Rangers, to business owner, to working for various State Agencies; Jerry finally retired from University of Texas. She was personally recognized by Lady Bird Johnson while employed by Jack Brown Cleaners for her service of uniforms for the LBJ Ranch. She was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Daughters of the Nile through the Shrine. She and Joe were active Shriners, and enjoyed fundraising events for the Children’s Shrine Hospitals. While Jerry is reunited with Joe and her family, and was greatly loved, she will be missed by countless family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday January 31, 2015, at 12 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service following at 1:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills, Austin, Texas. Graveside Services will be at 3:00 p.m. at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Texas.
