Glen Werner "Pete" Draehn

Glen “Pete” was born on October 28, 1936 to Selma and Willie Draehn and was the fourth of twelve children. He grew up and worked on the farm, attended Pleasant Hill School and graduated from Brenham High School. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Brenham and later changed his faith to Catholic. He worked for the Texas Highway Department in Brenham for many years and for Stewart Title in Austin as a drafter for over 20 years. After he retired he worked security at a number of places in Austin. He married Margaret Seger on December 8, 1969. She preceded him in death on August 19, 1996.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, Selma and Willie Draehn; parents-in-law, Amanda and Mertes Seger; brother, Alvin “Jimmy”, Elwood and Roger Draehn; sister and brother-in-law, Lillie Mae and Willie Schmidt and Edward Rybarski; as well two nephews, William and Russell Draehn.

He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Fore and Bridget and her husband, John Segura; grandchildren, Troy and Ryan Fore, Zackery Brittiny and Spencer Segura. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie and Marjorie, Joyce, Deloris, Lee and Hanna, Luther and Evelyn, Gene and JoAnn, and Allan and Peggy Draehn; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne and Ted Seger and Geraldine Rybarski; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
