She is preceded in death by her husband, Allan; her parents, William and Kathleen; her sister, Jeannie; and brother, Billy.
Gloria is survived by her children, David, Gwen, Duane, and Allan; their spouses; eleven grandchildren; and two nieces.
Gloria had a pure heart and recognized simple goodness. Her sweet and sensitive soul was profligately generous and unconditionally loving. Her own curiosity and spiritual hunger fed her desire to learn from the wise and to care for others in need. There was never a toy store she didn't like, an animal she didn't understand, or a Hawaiian sunset she wasn't grateful for. She fought to find and give voice to the voiceless. She was quirky and cute, sometimes feisty, and always at home with her family, her books, and her appreciation of beauty.
Gloria lived bravely and without complaint the last five years of her life, always yearning for her husband Allan, with whom she is now reunited. The family especially thanks the staff at Querencia Plaza at Barton Creek for their compassion and care during this time.
Gloria's life will be celebrated and commended to God in a private family memorial service at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Austin on Friday, January 31st at 11:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
