

Gregory is preceded in death by his parents, Clinton LeRoy Hancock Trippe and Norma Jean Styers-Trippe. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved Wife, Kimberly Trippe, his four children, Megan Tarpley, Zachary Trippe, Matthew Trippe, Eryn McClain & their spouses. His siblings Robin Collier, Richard Dennis Trippe & Nikki Trippe Purnell & their spouses. Along with six grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and many close friends who were like family to him.
Gregory was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, January 22nd, 1963. Throughout his life as the middle child of Air Force Tech Sergeant Clinton Trippe, Gregory had the opportunity to live in several places all over the world such as the Philippines, Spain and, Belgium before officially calling Austin his forever home in 1976/1977. He attended William B Travis High School, where he excelled in Wood Shop, winning state for his hand-crafted stereo cabinet, before earning his GED in 1981. He then married the love of his life, Kimberly, shortly after in 1984.
Greg was best known for being a devout father, instilling in each of his four children “The Golden Rule” and a loving Husband, who would be celebrating his 38th wedding anniversary this October. He was an enthusiastic and protective brother, always there for each of his three siblings, as a shoulder to lean on, or a someone to just share a beer with. Lastly, Greg was an adoring Pops – a name he wore with absolute pride. Most well-known as “Bubba”, his friends and co-workers would describe him as a hard worker with a heart of gold.Gregory created a lasting career in custom truck outfitting and mechanics – taking a special interests in motorcycles, for what he would say was his whole life - creating most of his lifelong bonds & friendships along the way. Greg never knew a stranger and was always willing to give you the shirt off his back. His lasting love, and generosity will live on through his loved ones & memories.
There will be a Celebration of life on Sunday, June 5th, 2022, at 2:00 PM to honor him. The celebration will be at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, located at 6300 W. William Cannon, Austin, TX 78749.
