

Guadalupe (Lupe) Luna Barba passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the age of 104 in Buda, Texas. She was born on June 5, 1919 in Austin, Texas to Eulogio and Salud Luna. By the grace of God she was able to live her last 14 years with her daughter MaryAlice and her son-in-law Jerry.
Lupe worked from a young age for a dry cleaning business. She also worked many years as a housewife and babysitter for all of her first generation grandchildren, some great grandchildren, and many children of friends and neighbors. She was very proficient at ironing clothes and earned quite a bit of money doing this. She was actively involved with San Jose Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Guadalupanas Organization.
Lupe is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 73 years, Ignacio R. Barba, four of her brothers, one of her sisters, and her oldest son Peter Barba. She is survived by her daughters Mary Davila, MaryAlice Case and husband, Jerry Case, son Jesse Barba and wife Eva Barba, sisters Maria (Mary) Luna Vasquez, Francisca (Frances) Luna Zamarripa, Feliciana (Chana) Luna Zapata and husband Rudy Zapata, brother Jose (Joe) Luna, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a few great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Trinity Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days, especially, Ana, Bettina, Keerstina and Alisha.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm with Rosary at 7pm at Cook Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr., Austin, TX 78749. A funeral service will occur on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 11am to 12pm, with a graveside service to follow.
