Guadalupe (Lupe) G. Cisneros, born to Fidel and Refugia Cisneros in Austin, Texas on November 12, 1931, had his ticket validated and began his journey to the other side on August 27, 2018. With his incredible strength and stamina he fought a long and tough battle for over three years. Like a champion he fought his battle with dignity and honor.
Lupe had a love of hunting and hunting rifles. During dove season he would sit at the back of his property and hunt doves. He would certainly eat what he hunted. Memories of tiny dove for snacking will remain with us forever. He also hunted deer and that was truly his hunting passion. He liked baseball and his favorite team was the Texas Rangers. He was a faithful fan even when his favorite team was less than stellar.
But even more than hunting he loved his wife and family. Lupe and Marcelina were steadfast supporters of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s endeavors and accomplishments. He attended many football games, high school graduations and college graduations to support his family. The success of his family is directly attributed to Lupe and Marcelina’s unwavering love and support.
Lupe married his wife of 65 years, Marcelina Cisneros (Garza) in 1952 and together they brought six children into this world; Dora Snowberger (Kenneth), Carlos Cisneros (Barbara), Martin Cisneros, Esther Phelan (David), Vera Dye (Gordon) and Eloise Potter (John.)
He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; Noel Snowberger (Matt Ramseyer), Amy Ballard (Ryan), Kristie Snowberger, Austin Cisneros (Karen), Travis Cisneros (Jennifer), Lyndon Cisneros (Tanya), Rosa Cisneros, Gregory Phelan, Marcie Queen, Amelia Dye, Brian Dye (Stephanie Garza, fiancé), Dean Wirkerman (Robyn), Logan Potter and Sophia Potter. In addition he leaves behind 19 great-grandchildren ranging in age from 19 years old to 1 year old.
