

Guadalupe Alicia G. Delgado, affectionately known as “Mama Lupe”, 86, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2013 in Austin, Texas. She was born on October 28, 1926 in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico to the late Valeriano and Julia E. Gonzalez.
Mrs. Delgado worked in retail sales and successfully sold Avon products for many years. She earned her GED, attended adult education classes at ACC and Bible study classes, as well. She was a devoted Christian and taught Sunday School for many years at Templo Sinai church, where she worshipped for many years. Mama Lupe loved to read the Bible, cook, and spend quality time with her ever-expanding family.
Mama Lupe was preceded in death by her brothers, Sergio Gonzalez and Rodolfo Gonzalez. She is survived by her daughters, Rosa Moreno, Armandina Diaz (“Manda”) and Elizabeth Delgado-Baker; her sons, Roger Delgado, Julian Delgado Jr. and Raymond Delgado; her brother, Humberto Gonzalez, of Mexico and her sister, Mrs. Blanca Hernandez of Laredo, Texas; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-six great- grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
We will miss Mama Lupe every day for the rest of our loves, but are consoled by the thought that she is in heaven with the Lord. She leaves behind a legacy of love, caring, and kindness to all those that knew her.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Monday, the 27th of May 2013, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
A funeral service will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 28th of May 2013, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks, Pflugerville, Texas.
