Gus Palmer Stewart died December 17, 2004. Born August 8, 1929 in Paris, TX, he lived most of his life in Austin with his wife of 51 years, Joyce Stewart. Gus served in the armed services prior to working in a number of positions over 38 years at KTBC-TV. He was an active member in Tarrytown United Methodist Church for more than 40 years, serving in numerous lay positions. Gus touched the lives of so many people with his sense of humor, his kind heart, and giving spirit. In spite of years of health problems, Gus never lost his will to live or his positive attitude. Gus is survived by his wife, Joyce, children Jeffrey Stewart and Courtney Ryan, sister, Jean Stewart, and grandchildren, Jake & Sydney Ryan. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 20 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, and a memorial service will be held at noon on Tuesday, December 21 at Tarrytown United Methodist Church.
