

Mr. Harry Lee Wied on 21st August, 2011 went to his Heavenly Father and to be with his parents, brothers, sister and nephew. He was born on July 17, 1927. Mr. Wied is a veteran from World War II. He loved his country and told stories about how he was sent to Germany. Mr. Wied was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Northwest Baptist and Crestview Baptist. Mr. Wied worked for many years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and AT&T. He was known for his meticulous work ethics and dedication to the company. The men under his leadership knew that he was there as a leader, fellow worker and a friend. Mr. Wied was also known for his numerous pranks which he also enjoyed teaching his daughter to do. Mr. Wied instilled in his daughter the importance of learning, striving to do your best, the importance of a strong education and that God will help you through difficult times.
Mr. Wied is leaving behind his loving wife who has taken very good care of him during the past 61 years. Since 1998 Mr. Wied has fought a very hard battle against heart disease. The family would like to thank Dr. Roger Gammon for the many miracles he performed to lengthen Mr. Wied’s life and for the exemplary care that he received at Heart Hospice and from the wonderful, caring staff and nurses of Emeritus Skilled Nursing Facility. Mr. Wied is also leaving behind one daughter named Debbie Crenwelge, her husband Terry Crenwelge and one grandson, Richard and many nephews and nieces.
