Preceding him in death are his parents; siblings, James White, Evelyn Baker, Gabriel White, Sr. (of New York, New York), and Minnie Jane Wiggins (of Jamaica, New York), and brother-in-law, Tracy Jenkins, Sr. (of Williston, South Carolina).
Harvey professed his hope in Christ and united in Christian fellowship at Bushy Pond Baptist Church in Norway, South Carolina.
Shortly after graduating High School, Harvey enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country for 26 years. He was honorably discharged after serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars with the rank of SMSgt and retired to Austin, Texas where he met and married the love of his life, Maggie (Green) White. Their marital union was sealed by their Pastor, R.E. Foster and he was dedicatedly in fellowship with his Church home until his health failed.
On February 19, 2019, Harvey, at the age of 83, received his final call of duty, his call to eternal life! He passed peaceably in the comfort of his home under the loving care of his wife, Maggie and granddaughter, Marcie.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Maggie; two sons, Jason and Jordan; two daughters, Lydia and Marcella and her husband, Carl; one cherished sister, Pearline Jenkins; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 1, 2019 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Zion Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 3326 Paisano Trail with Pastor R.E. Foster officiating. Interment with U.S. Air Force Honors will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
As we celebrate the life of Harvey “Clift” White, he would want us to know that he was a Servant. He honorably served his Country; He lovingly served and honored his wife Maggie; He served as the priest and head of his household; and most importantly, He served and loved Almighty God. Truly we can hear our God saying, “Well done my good and faithful servant!”
