

HAZEL S. FOSHEE Hazel S. Foshee died Sunday morning, October 17th at the age of 77. Born February 28, 1927 at San Antonio to Luther S. Smith and Hazel Stowers, she graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Art History. Hazel married John C. Foshee May 29, 1949 at El Rancho de Hamaris, Hunt, Kerr County, Texas. A resident of Austin for 50 years, Hazel was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. She pursued sculpting during the 1960s through the 1980s, winning several juried shows. Hazel is survived by husband John C. Foshee; son Page S. Foshee of Austin; daughter Clare F. Albert, of Santa Fe, NM; brother Richard S. Smith, of Houston; sister Mary Anne Wilt, of Washington, DC; niece Quincy McR. Smith, of Austin; nephews Adam J. Wilt, of San Francisco; Justin S. Wilt, of Arlington, VA; Elliott S. Smith, of Singapore; two grand nieces and two grand nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Andrews Episcopal School, 1112 West 31st Street, Austin, Texas 78705; Alzheimers Association of Austin, 3420 Executive Center Drive, No. 301, Austin, Texas 78731; or donors charity of choice.
