

Heidi Alexandra Haeuser Heidi Alexandra Haeuser died February 7th at the age of 48. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin she was the dearest daughter of Adrienne Ahlgren Haeuser and the late Charles Haeuser, dear sister of Charles A. Tex Haeuser, August C. Haeuser and Anthony A. Haeuser, and cherished granddaughter of the late Mildred Carlson and Oscar A. Ahlgren and the late Mabel and Hugo Haeuser. Heidi graduated from Nicolet High School, Glendale, WI and received a B.A. degree from Hampshire College, Amherst, MA. She also completed a Harvard Radcliffe Graphic Arts Program. Since 1995 Heidi had been a designer at the University of Texas Press. Before coming to Texas she had worked at such prestigious publishing houses as The Smithsonian Institution, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and St. Martins Press. As head of her own design organization, her clients included Columbia University Press, Princeton University Press, and George Braziller, Inc. Heidi designed over 150 books for the University of Texas Press. She received awards from the Association of American University Presses and the Southeastern Library Association, among others. A reception honoring Heidi was held at the University of Texas Press February 20th. A family celebration of Heidis life will be held this summer in Milwaukee.
