Helen was born on December 31st, 1932, in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Omar and Pearl Wharton. Helen spent her early years living on a farm in the country and later moved to Patton when she was 12 years old. Helen had many friends and participated in piano, trombone, ballet, and was a majorette. After her high school graduation, she moved to Washington D.C. and worked for the FBI as a stenographer. Helen married the love of her life, Richard C. “Dick” Fisher, on June 14th, 1954. Dick was attending Penn State studying Engineering, so Helen got a job in the Dean’s Office and worked until he graduated. Helen was a busy stay-at-home wife and homemaker raising six children. In Austin, Helen returned to the workforce as a Word Processor at State Farm. Helen retired and moved to Cedar Park where she and Dick spent many happy years together. Helen was a nurturer and loved taking care of her grandkids and spending time with her children at family get-together's. She loved to play bingo, visit the casinos, was strong in her Catholic faith, and loved music and to sing. Helen was the most patient, kind, and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She never complained about anything and was a loving friend to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. “Dick” Fisher, her son, Jeffrey Fisher, and daughter, Gwen Fisher. She is survived by four of her children, Sharon Ulshafer, Pam Fisher, Rick Fisher II and Jill Wilson. Helen had ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

One of her favorite verses by Helen Steiner Rice and it’s how she lived her life.
A SURE WAY TO A HAPPY DAY
HAPPINESS is something we create in our mind, it’s not something you search for and so seldom find,
It’s just waking up and beginning the day by counting our blessings and kneeling to pray
It’s giving up thoughts that breed discontent and accepting what comes as a “gift heaven sent”,
It’s giving up wishing for things we have not and making the best of whatever we’ve got,
It’s knowing that life is determined for us, and pursuing our tasks without fret, fume, or fuss,
For It’s by completing what God gives us to do that we find real contentment and happiness too.
