He was a retired employee of the Texas Department of Public Safety serving 15yrs as a trooper and 19yrs as Senior Pilot/Investigator retiring with certification of a Special Texas Ranger.
He is survived by his loving wife Janice “Jan” Osborne Elliott; four children; Judy Martin and husband Kenn of Bellville, TX, Wayne Elliott and wife Deborah of Austin, Jill Zeriali and husband George of Alice, TX and Jere Hammel and husband Robert of Austin. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr., Austin, TX 78749.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2011 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Department of Public Safety Museum or the Department of Public Safety Fallen Officer’s Memorial Fund.
