

Born in BadIburg, Germany on June 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Johannas and Anne (Chudzik) Minnerup.
Hugo immigrated to the US in 1952 and was drafted by the US Air Force, where he honorably served as a mechanic, working on heavy military equipment and trucks. Following his service, he attended the University of Buffalo where he graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1962. Upon graduation he started his 31 year career with Rochester Products, a Division of General Motors, in Rochester, New York. His dedication, devotion and work ethic are a legacy he has passed on to his family and friends. He retired in Austin, Texas, where he resided until his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 9 brothers, Johnnas, Hugo-Franz, Berhard, Herman, Anton, Wilhelm, Gerhard, Walter and Alfons Minnerup.
Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Hermina Gastiger, his daughters, Marianne Golden, Caroline (Bill) Branca, both in Austin, Texas, and his son, Robert Minnerup, Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren (Mike), Owen Nicholas (Kate), Clarissa, Louis and Phillip; great-grandchildren, Sloane, Heidi and Maeve; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on 12/22/2023 at 3pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in St. Thomas More Cemetery, Austin. No calling hours will be held.
