

'Io lani was born to parents Hang Tuyet Nguyen and Samuel Morgan Shaw on October 30th, 1999 in Wainiha, Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi. Her forever love of the Hawaiian Islands will always remain. She spent most of
her life in and near Blanco, Texas. She attended Blanco Elementary & Blanco Middle School, and graduated high school from Katherine Anne Porter. Iolani was working at Hays County Store as a server and viewed her co-workers at Hays County & her former co-workers at Pecan Street Brewing Restaurant as an extension of her family. She was making plans to go back to school to become a paralegal for Environmental Justice.
Raised in the Native American Church ways with the spiritual foundation of love, faith, hope and charity, these teachings were a very integral part of her life and made her who she was. She loved her spiritual family and community and all her friends and relatives that came from all walks of life.
'Io lani had a big heart and an intricate mind full of treasure, creativity, and beauty. She was beautiful, caring, unique, funny, and charismatic. She was an artist, a writer, a rapper, a singer, a dancer, a friend, a bursting bubble of joy and laughter, an infinite cup of wisdom, a powerful force, and a flame full of all
the colors. 'Io lani opened our hearts to what infinite and unconditional love is. Her spirit will continue to shine upon this Earth, her love will continue to nurture our hearts, her legacy will live on through all of whom she touched.
Io lani' leaves behind her parents, Hang Nguyen & Samuel Morgan Shaw, sisters Indica Shaw, Shivanii Nneka, and brother Quanah Abshire. On her mothers side, grandmother Le Black, step grandmother Lucie Cousins, aunties Jacquie Loan Nguyen and Huyen Carey (husband Bryan Carey) and Uncle Linh Nguyen .
On her father's side, great grandparents Pat and Irv Buppert, grandfather Larry Shaw, uncle Jesse Shaw, aunt Kelley Deahl, and cousins Larry Shaw, Lauren Deahl, and River Deahl.
In addition, her closest plus family, Roland Moreno, Miki Moreno, Alex Moreno.
Iolani was preceded in death by her grandmother Michelle Walker, paternal grandfather's Le Van
Nguyen, step grandfather Mitchell Darren Black and uncle David Luan Nguyen.
